Safest Family Minivans 2015
Although minivans are widely considered the best family vehicles on the market, recent Insurance Institute for Highs Safety (IIHS) crash tests showed that many new minivans aren’t quite as safe as they should be, at least when it comes to the small-overlap front crash test.
Unfortunately, the Chrysler Town & Country, Dodge Grand Caravan and Nissan Quest all received ratings of “Poor” in that particular test. But not all minivans failed, as the 2015 Toyota Sienna earned an “Acceptable” in the extremely challenging test, and thanks to top ratings of “Good” in every other crash test category, the 2015 Toyota Sienna was awarded the title of Top Safety Pick+ from the IIHS, making it one of the two the safest family minivans of 2015.

The 2015 Toyota Sienna isn’t alone at the top of the list of safety family minivans, however, as it is joined by the 2015 Honda Odyssey. In fact, the Honda Odyssey was the only minivan to earn a score of “Good” across the board in every crash test.
See the table below to see how the Honda Odyssey and Toyota Sienna earned the title of safest family minivans of 2014 by outperforming the Dodge Grand Caravan, Chrysler Town & Country, Nissan Quest and Kia Sedona.
